Video Game Insights has been around for about 10 months now. We’ve built the core platform to be a free Steam trends and data platform for indie developers and game enthusiasts.
Steam Analytics tool as a way to summarise Steam game statistics
Steam Analytics was our first tool that we released to help indie devs make better and more data driven decisions.
Steam Analytics tool allows anyone to see how Steam games have performed. It covers game revenues, prices, reviews and release dates.
A developer can filter down the list of games to their competitor set and see how these games have performer, for example.
Individual Steam games pages are our newest feature to date.
Individual games pages can be found using our Games Database tool. You can filter or search games by name to find what you’re after. Each game has their own overview page. For example, see the Steam stats for Valheim.
The VG Insights steam stats page covers prices, revenues, game developer, publisher and release stats, as well as the ranking VS other similar games. It also has a link to the game’s Steam store page for more insight.
Other comparable platforms exist, but focus on different areas
Steamspy is one of the oldest and best know Steam data platforms. They’re great at summarising individual games data, but don’t offer the same analytical platform as VG Insight.
SteamDB is good for summarising player and follower stats, but, simmilarly to Steamspy, lacks the capabilities to analyse a subsection of games all at once.
Game Data Crunch is a newer platform, first coming live in the middle of 2020. Their focus is providing interesting stats on individual games — from rankings to good tagging and categorisation of games.
